Alright so it has been an unbelievably long time since I have posted anything. The reason is that work has been busy and I only use the Internet at work.

God has been unbelievably gracious to me. Not that this is not normal but He has granted me a greater awareness of it this week. He has reminded me that I cannot do anything without Him and has granted me a fresh dependence upon His Spirit working in and through me  to accomplish what He wills. I am excited and trust that this work will continue.

I have been asked to write about what it looks like to walk around “poor in spirit”. I am no expert but this is what I believe after reading Scripture and praying. Being poor in spirit means that you realize that you are utterly hopless without Christ and that you would deny Him if He did not sustain you every second of every day. Nothing good dwells in you except the Spirit of Christ. It is realizing who you are and having your dependence be wholly on God.

Last but not least I have a question for everyone. I am not looking for a fight and have been dwelling on this for two days now. I want your comments and I will comment in a few days.

I read an article that talked about how the christians in a town in Iraq have decided that they will take up arms and defend themselves against persecution.

Is this okay? Please give me your thoughts. I also would ask that you not give me your personal opinion. I would like responses that are well thought out with Scripture. Thank you very much. I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Jeremiah 23

1“Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!” declares the LORD.  2Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them; behold, I am about to attend to you for the evil of your deeds,” declares the LORD.

 10For the land is full of adulterers;
         For the land mourns because of the curse
         The pastures of the wilderness have dried up.
         Their course also is evil
         And their might is not right.
    11“For both prophet and priest are polluted;
         Even in My house I have found their wickedness,” declares the LORD.
    12“Therefore their way will be like slippery paths to them,
         They will be driven away into the gloom and fall down in it;
         For I will bring calamity upon them,
         The year of their punishment,” declares the LORD.
    13“Moreover, among the prophets of Samaria I saw an offensive thing:
         They prophesied by Baal and led My people Israel astray.
    14“Also among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing:
         The committing of adultery and walking in falsehood;
         And they strengthen the hands of evildoers,
         So that no one has turned back from his wickedness
         All of them have become to Me like Sodom,
         And her inhabitants like Gomorrah.

16Thus says the LORD of hosts,
         “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you
         They are leading you into futility;
         They speak a vision of their own imagination,
         Not from the mouth of the LORD.
    17“They keep saying to those who despise Me,
         ‘The LORD has said, “You will have peace”‘;
         And as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart,
         They say, ‘Calamity will not come upon you.’

30“Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the LORD, “who steal My words from each other.

 31“Behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the LORD, “who use their tongues and declare, ‘The Lord declares.’

36“For you will no longer remember the oracle of the LORD, because every man’s own word will become the oracle, and you have perverted the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.

Do you think this sounds like our day? Let me know your thoughts.

A Must Read

1 Peter 4

1Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

 Amos 3

6If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble?
         If a calamity occurs in a city has not the LORD done it?

 I would like to know your thoughts on these verses. I do not want to argue or refute anyones view.  I do not mind healthy discussion but I do not wish to argue. Please feel free to comment.

Why is it that so many people do not truly believe that God is Sovereign and that Christians should suffer? I really do want to hear from both sides.

Wisdom from Tozer

“Our churches these days are filled with a soft-breed of christian that must be fed on a diet of harmless fun to keep them interested. About theology they know little. Scarcely any of them have read even one of the great Christian classics, but most of them are familiar with religious fiction and spine-tingling films. No wonder their moral and spiritual constitution is so frail. Such can only be called weak adherents of a faith they never really understood.”

 This is sad but true. Most of the people who call themselves Christians live as though Jesus had never instructed us on how we should live. Very few people walk in a manner worthy of the Gospel of our Lord. Oh that God would put a Holy fear of God in us and that we might purify ourselves just as He is pure.

Phillipians 1: 29-30 “For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear to be in me”

This does not at all resemble the church in America.

Please(those of you who are truly believers and not just professors) pray the Christ’s Church would be marked by suffering for His sake. To God be the glory. Amen.

I love you all.

Worship

I am currently involved in a church plant called Promise Baptist Church. It is awesome. Our thing is “Getting back to the promises of God, one verse at a time”.  It is the most biblical thing I have ever seen. The pastors name is Kevin and he loves the Lord. He invited me over to his house to learn more about Promise and I drilled him on his theology for a very long time and Kevin is a man of truth. I am confident that God will lead us using Kevin as a shepherd.

I am officially going to be leading worship at Promise and I am sooooooo excited that God has given me the oppurtunity to do this. I very much enjoy leading worship. I am also very fearful, not because of anything having to do with music, but, I fear God. I pray that I will walk in a manner worthy of the Gospel.

 God is again teaching me about suffering and I also pray that the Church would be marked by suffering.

 I love you all.
